What if I Fall?

"Why do we fall, sir? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up." - Alfred Pennyworth, Batman Begins

I've spent the better part of two decades learning and practicing ways of looking inward. It's a beautiful and never ending realm of discovery. I sincerely love and believe it's never too late to learn something new.

Recently, I was bestowed the honor of becoming the student of two Teachers, one from the West and one from the East. Each has told me its time to step out of my cave and participate in the chaos and beauty that is our world today. No, no. I'm not going anywhere. Just assessing how I support the community at large.

Anyway, at first, I was concerned that this level of study would negate the work I've been doing. I was anxious that the concepts might be beyond my comprehension. Yep, just call me 'chicken'. I was afraid.

So I sat with my fear. I reviewed all the moments that I chose the easier option and still fell down. Then I reviewed all of the moments that were more challenging and I soared. Regardless of outcome, each experience actually realigned me with my rightful path. But one choice was certainly more fulfilling.

My point, falling isn't an obstacle. It's inevitable. So go ahead and take the leap. Consider one of the smaller items on your Big Fat Hairy Goals list. What's really in the way of accomplishing or attaining it, right now? Can you let your fear die to make room for something else to flourish in your life? In this lifetime, we are destined to fall...a lot. Remember it's not about the fall...it's about getting back up.

Ready, set, go...
